About Turquoise Inlay Art (Firoozeh Koobi)

Firoozeh Koobi is a traditional Persian handicraft where artisans carefully set small pieces of turquoise stone in a mosaic-like pattern on the surface of decorative objects, jewelry, or utensils made of copper, brass, and other metals. They use a dark, two-component adhesive called Araks to secure the turquoise pieces. This art form began 60–70 years ago in Mashhad when Master Yusef Hakimian created it, and Haj Dadash later brought it to Isfahan, where it became one of the city’s signature crafts.
